French Chocolate Ad

I haven't been able to post in a while, I've been so busy with the daylilies!  I've gotten behind on furniture projects.

Here is the before picture of an oval coffee table I got out of a storage unit.  I love oval coffee tables!

It looks so great!  I love the french chocolate ad, I've painted it on two other coffee tables.  I got this french chocolate ad off of thegraphicsfairy.com.  That's where I get most graphics to paint on furniture.  She has a great selection!

Here are the two coffee tables I have done in the past with the same french chocolate ad.

Maybe next time I'll paint a different design on the top.  Maybe.

Grain Sack Desk

Between working on furniture and digging daylilies I've had a busy week!  It's about to get even busier because the storage pod we bought is being delivered tomorrow and I'm going wedding dress shopping!  On Tuesday we are heading to our cabin for the fourth of July so we have to get the pod emptied before we leave.  Speaking of storage pod's this desk I've finished came out of a unit we bought a while back.  I thought it would be perfect to put in our booth at the antique shop in town.

Before:

 After:

I started off by sanding and staining the wood top in espresso.  Next I painted the rest of the desk a blue/green color and the pulls in cream.  Then I taped off grain sack looking stripes and painted them cream.  Lastly I lightly distressed around the edges and Ta Da!  Now it looks super adorable!  I'm thinking of redoing a bench to go with it but we'll see.

Here it is in our booth at the store:

All decorate for the Fourth of July!  I made the pennant banner and strings of stars myself!

Table Redo . . . Again!

It's been so long since I posted!  I haven't fixed up much since winter break but now it's summer again so I have more time to work on furniture!  I had this table that I fixed up in the fall and it got a huge scratch on the top so I decided to just redo the whole thing again.  If you fix something up and it doesn't work out you can always redo it again!  I only have a before and after pictures, no in between.

Before:

That isn't the actual table, I forgot to take a before picture but this table is exactly the same!

After:

I painted the top a blue/green color, left the bottom white, painted the design on the top, heavily distressed it, add an antiquing glaze, and added poly top coat for protection!

I love it!  So cute.  This is the first time I painted an entire table!

This is my first time posting after getting engaged!  On March 15th it was mine and Daniels 6 year anniversary and we got engaged!!  We already picked a wedding date for June 13th, 2015 and slowly but surely we are planning our wedding, so exciting!

Winter Break Vanity

I haven't posted anything in a long time but that's because I haven't had time to fix anything up lately!  Well over winter break I had time to work on this vanity that I bought at a thrift store for $45.

It is old and was super beat up looking so I knew I was going to paint it!  I decided to go with a cream color and distressed it. Ta-da!  It's beautiful!!

Some of the original pulls on the vanity drawers were missing or broken so I replaced them with pulls my dad got off of an old, broken buffet.

I had to take pictures of it in the dirty, messy basement since it was too cold and snowy out to take pictures of it outside.  This is the first vanity I ever fixed up and I love it!  It sold within a week of listing it on Craigslist, yay!

The "V" Dresser

This dresser is probably one of the nastiest before pictures I've ever had.  It had stickers and scratches all over the front and the top was covered in gunk.  Super gross!  But nothing a little sanding couldn't fix.
First I sanded the dresser to clean off all the nasty, then I primed it in white.  At this point I changed my mind entirely about what I wanted to do to the dresser so I painted it black and distressed it so the white shows through.
I wanted to make it more unique and not so plain looking so I taped off some stripes on the top and painted them gold.  I just love back and gold together!
And ta-da!! It's beautiful!  At least it is to me, I know it's not everyone's style.

I love it!
